Program Overview:

The Comprehensive Clinical Dentistry Foundation Program is designed for general dentists seeking to enhance their clinical skills across a broad range of dental disciplines. Combining 6 months of online learning with a 16-day intensive hands-on training session at the offshore luxury retreat, the course ensures a complete learning experience with a unique focus on wellness, personal growth, and clinical mastery.

  • Online Lectures (6 months): 36 CPD Points (1.5 hours/week)

  • Hands-On Training (16 days): 120 CPD Points (8 hours/day)

Course Structure:

1. Online Learning (November 1, 2024 – April 30, 2025)

The 6-month online lectures cover essential clinical knowledge, preparing participants for the hands-on training sessions.

  • Endodontics (Root Canal Therapy): (6 weeks)

  • Prosthodontics (Crown, Bridge, Laminates, Fixed & Partial Dentures): (6 weeks)

  • Periodontics: (4 weeks)

  • Oral Surgery (Basic Extractions): (6 weeks)

  • Pediatric Dentistry: (2 weeks)

  • Orthodontics (Basic): (4 weeks)

  • Dental Implants (Introduction): (4 weeks)

  • Dental Photography : (2 weeks)

 

2. Hands-On Workshop (16 Days)  May 8 – May 23 2025 

at Dental Education Resort - India (Kerala, God's Own Country, offers lush landscapes, serene backwaters, and rich cultural experiences for a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure)

During the 16-day workshop, participants will receive comprehensive hands-on training in all core disciplines, complemented by wellness practices such as yoga, trekking, and mindfulness sessions. Accommodation, food, and all training materials are part of the package.

  • Oral Diagnosis & Treatment Planning (1 Day)

    • This module focuses on enhancing your clinical diagnosis and treatment planning skills.

    • Patient History Taking: Learn how to obtain detailed and relevant patient histories to inform diagnoses.

    • Clinical Examination: Develop expertise in conducting comprehensive oral exams to identify key dental issues.

    • Radiographic Interpretation: Hands-on practice in interpreting x-rays, CBCT  and other diagnostic tools for precise treatment planning.

    • Comprehensive Treatment Planning: Understand how to create customized treatment plans based on patient needs and conditions.

    • Case-Based Learning: Apply theoretical knowledge to real-life cases for better decision-making.

  • Restorative and Esthetic Dentistry (2 Days)

    • This session dives into advanced restorative techniques for managing both simple and complex cases.

    • Cavity Preparation: Hands-on practice in preparing cavities for restorations with the latest techniques.

    • Direct Restorations: Learn to place and finish composite restorations for both anterior and posterior teeth.

    • Composite Layering Techniques: Master aesthetic restorations with precise layering and shade matching techniques.

    • Material Selection & Application: Hands-on experience with modern dental materials to enhance strength and durability.

    • Finishing and Polishing: Refine restoration surfaces for both functionality and aesthetics.

  • Endodontics  (2 Days)

    • Gain practical skills in performing root canal treatments, from diagnosis to restoration.

    • Diagnosis and Case Selection: Learn how to assess and select appropriate cases for endodontic treatment.

    • Rotary Instrumentation: Hands-on use of rotary instruments on extracted teeth, enhancing precision and speed.

    • Obturation Techniques: Practice various methods for filling root canals effectively.

    • Post-Endodontic Restoration: Learn how to restore teeth after root canal therapy for long-term success.

  • Prosthodontics (Crown, Bridge, Laminates, Fixed & Partial Dentures) (3 Days)

    • This comprehensive module covers the complete spectrum of prosthetic restorations.

    • Crown Preparations: Practice preparing teeth for metal-ceramic and all-ceramic crowns, ensuring precision.

    • Impression Techniques: Hands-on training in both digital and conventional impressions for prosthetic fabrication.

    • Provisional Restorations: Learn to create provisional crowns and bridges for temporary restoration needs.

    • Fixed Bridge Preparations: Get hands-on experience in designing and preparing for multi-unit fixed bridges.

    • Laminates: Master the art of veneer preparation and placement for aesthetic improvement.

    • Fixed & Partial Dentures: Learn to fit and adjust fixed and removable partial dentures to restore patient function.

  • Periodontics (1 Day)

    • Develop essential skills in diagnosing and treating periodontal disease.

    • Scaling & Root Planing: Hands-on practice in performing non-surgical periodontal treatments to manage gum disease.

    • Pocket Charting & Periodontal Instrumentation: Learn how to measure and chart periodontal pockets and select appropriate instruments for treatment.

    • Basic Surgical Techniques: Introduction to flap surgeries and other minor periodontal procedures to restore gum health.

    • Patient Maintenance: Learn best practices for periodontal maintenance and long-term care.

  • Oral Surgery (Extractions and Minor Surgical Procedures) (1 Day)

    • This session focuses on basic oral surgery skills, essential for general practice.

    • Simple Extractions: Hands-on practice in performing atraumatic extractions using modern techniques.

    • Surgical Extractions: Learn how to perform surgical extractions, including flap design and bone removal techniques.

    • Suturing Techniques: Gain proficiency in placing sutures after oral surgery for optimal healing.

  • Pediatric Dentistry (1 Day)

  • Orthodontics (Basic) (1 Day)

    • Gain a foundational understanding of orthodontic techniques that can be applied in general practice.

    • Malocclusion Assessment: Learn to diagnose malocclusions and understand basic orthodontic treatment planning.

    • Removable Appliances: Hands-on practice in fitting and adjusting removable appliances, such as space maintainers.

    • Basic Appliance Fitting: Learn the fundamentals of orthodontic appliances, including retainers and functional devices.

  • Dental Implants (Basic) (1 Day)

    • This session introduces dental implants, focusing on basic surgical and restorative techniques.

    • Surgical Implant Placement: Hands-on experience in placing implants on models, focusing on accuracy and patient safety.

    • Restoration of Implants: Learn the basics of restoring dental implants with crowns or prosthetics.

  • Dental Photography (1 Day)

    • This session focuses on mastering the art of dental photography for clinical documentation and patient communication.

    • Camera Setup & Equipment: Learn the types of cameras, lenses, and accessories required for high-quality dental photography.

    • Lighting Techniques: Understand how to use natural and artificial lighting to capture detailed images of dental structures.

    • Intraoral & Extraoral Photography: Practice taking both intraoral and extraoral shots for clinical records and treatment planning.

    • Photo Composition: Learn proper framing, focus, and composition techniques for accurate and aesthetic dental images.
