Orthodontics Internship Week May-June 2024

Important points to follow:

• Please take note of the following information regarding the Clinical Internship and the INTERNATIONAL ORTHODONTIC COURSE on New Technologies and Techniques in Orthodontics, presented by David Suárez Quintanilla at the University of Santiago de Compostela.  
• Participating doctors are required to bring their pliers and the specified wires. 
• Please note that the course does not provide breakfast, lunch, or dinner. However, nearby meal options range between 10 and 15 euros per person for lunch and about 20 euros for dinner.  
• The gala dinner is an optional event, and students may choose to attend. The dinner will be held in a magnificent medieval, Renaissance, and 16th-century palace, where diplomas and the internship certificate will be awarded, and photos will be taken. The cost per person for the gala dinner is 65 euros.
• The meeting will take place on the third floor of the Dentistry building at the University of Santiago de Compostela.
• The Doctors must bring their clinical clothes, shoes, a powerful laptop, pliers and wires.

June 1 (Saturday)

9:30 am: Presentation and Introduction to the Course (3rd-floor Faculty of Dentistry. USC) 

10:30 am: Hybrid Appliance System (HAS). Elements. Biomechanics. Digital Treatment Integration. 

11:30 am: Coffee break. 

12 Noon: Practical Digital Records. Intraoral Scanner Exercises. Photos. 3D Craniofacial Analysis. Presented by Dra Eugenia Borja y Paz Pose 

1:30 pm: Lunchtime. 

3:30 pm: Ecological Orthodontics. Composite Bite Planes and Tracks. Rapid Maxillary Expansion. McNamara. Marco Rosa. Lantieri. Mixt Dentition Treatment. Functional Appliances. 

6:00 pm - 8:00 pm: Live treatment of patients of different ages, malocclusions, and orthodontic problems. Presented by Prof David Suárez Q / Dra Rocio Guerrero 

7:30 pm: Master Class. Orthognathic Surgery presented by Prof Abel García García. 

June 2 (Sunday)

9:30 am: Practical management of digital records. Set-Up. Mock-Up. Aligners Design with Nemotec® software. Digital Smile Design (I). Presented by Dr Iago Armán.

Hands-on: Clinical management of different alloys. Closing loops. Presented by Dra Noelia Caamaño & David Suárez Q 

12:30 pm: Visit the University Dean, Old Town, Cathedral, museum, and Portico de la Gloria /lunchtime (Prof David Suárez Q)
